Our Story
A Legacy of Community Service and Automotive Excellence

Angie’s Service Inc began with a vision of providing quality automotive care back in 1962. Founded by Angie Machiros, the original shop operated out of a small Sinclair gas station on the corner of County Street in Peabody, MA. As the business grew, Angie moved to a new larger Sunoco Station at the fork of Lynn and Lynnfield Street in Peabody. Summering on Plum Island, the family decided to move out of the city and relocate their home and business to Plum Island in 1972. Serving the community, Angie became a part-time Newbury Police Officer and later became a Selectman in the Town of Newbury for over 20 years. His wife Joyce served on Newbury’s Council on Aging for several years. Gary contributes annually to the Council on Aging. For many years, Gary coached for the local youth hockey and High School team.

Gary grew up in the family business, learning from his father and garnering further expertise through extensive automotive training. Today he leads Angie’s Service Inc., with the same dedication to quality and community. From an old gas station in the early days to Northshore’s most well-equipped auto repair shop, our journey highlights a commitment to community and trusted automotive service.

Built on Knowledge, Fueled by Passion: Gary’s Journey in Automotive Repair

Gary’s automotive journey began at age 10, working at his father’s Sunoco station in Peabody, MA. By 20, he took over the family business, later purchasing it in 2009. In 2017, he relocated Angie’s Service Inc. to its current location in Newbury, MA, where the business expanded significantly. In 2020, Angie’s began offering ADAS calibrations for collision centers.

A lifelong learner, Gary graduated with honors from Whittier Technical High School, earning the Automotive Technology Award. He has spent decades advancing his expertise through training and education, including serving as an instructor for major automotive manufacturers. He holds ASE Master Technician certification, along with L1 Advanced Drivability/Emissions Repair and L4 ADAS Specialist certifications.

Gary’s passion for training led him to instruct at the General Motors Training Center, Mass Bay Community College, and Stratham Technical College. He has also developed and taught courses for Automotive Training Group (ATG), Ford/Motorcraft, Volkswagen/Audi, and the Massachusetts State Emissions Repair Program.

In addition to running Angie’s, Gary provides ADAS training and business support through his company, AATI, and consults for Autel, a leading automotive diagnostic tool provider. His commitment to both cars and people remains at the heart of Angie’s Automotive Service, where he and his team are dedicated to fixing cars right and helping customers every day.
