Portrait of James, Technician at Angie's Automotive Service, wearing a blue long-sleeve shop shirt with company branding and a beige Carhartt cap, standing outdoors with softly blurred greenery in the background.

James

Technician

James’s journey into the world of automotive repair didn’t follow a traditional path, but that’s exactly what he loves about it. He began his career after graduating the Plumbing and Heating program offered by Whittier Tech. From there, he spent several years as a plumber’s apprentice, but his hands were always itching to learn more. He eventually joined his grandfather in the home-building business, where he helped design and construct houses. When his grandfather retired, James took on landscaping for a few years, gaining experience in property maintenance and working outdoors. But James’s real shift happened when he met Gary, the owner of Angie’s Service, through his landscaping job. As the season was approaching its end, James was recommended for a property maintenance position offered by Gary, and that was the start of something new. Once the renovations were complete, Gary saw potential in James for the automotive side of the business. With minimal experience working on family and friend’s vehicles, James embraced the challenge and began working on cars in a professional setting, learning the trade under Gary’s mentorship. With 8 years in the industry spent at Angie’s, James has grown into a skilled automotive technician. What excites him about the job? The fact that it’s never the same day twice. James has developed a deep passion for automotive work and he’s always eager to learn how new technology works. His hands-on experience is complemented by certifications including OSHA and MA State Inspection. He looks forward to attending WorldPac seminars and taking part in ongoing training to stay sharp. Outside of the shop, you’ll find James outdoors, soaking up time with his family. Whether it’s camping, hiking, or just exploring New England’s hidden gems, he values his time away from work to recharge. For James, life is about balance: staying focused while in the shop and spending quality time with his family when the work is done.
